This website sets no analytics or advertising cookies. Here is the only data it handles, and why.

Résidence L'Eau Vive (see the legal notice), reachable by email at reservation@residenceleauvive.com or by phone at +229 01 42 400 200.

The form on the Events and Experiences pages asks for your name, your phone number, the type of event, the date, the number of people and a message. This information is not sent to a server of the website: the form prepares a WhatsApp message, which you choose whether or not to send to La Résidence.

It is used only to respond to your request and to prepare your event. La Résidence keeps it for as long as it takes to handle the request and organize the event. Exact period: To be confirmed.

When you contact La Résidence by WhatsApp, email or phone, it receives what you choose to send it, in order to reply to you. WhatsApp messages go through WhatsApp (Meta), under the terms of that service.

Rooms are booked on the booking page provided by Cloudbeds. The information requested (identity, contact details, dates of stay, payment) is processed by Cloudbeds on behalf of La Résidence, in order to manage your stay. The Cloudbeds privacy policy also applies on that page.

To display the website and protect it from attacks, the host, Cloudflare, processes the technical data of each visit (IP address, browser type, page requested). La Résidence uses no audience measurement tool, no advertising and no embedded social network.

The website stores only the following information in your browser, never passed on to anyone:

NameWhereWhyHow long
langLocal storageRemember the language you choseUntil you clear it
lv-arrivalSession storagePlay the welcome animation once per arrivalUntil the tab is closed
lv-consentLocal storageRemember your choice about the map and the player (cookie banner)6 months
lv-musicSession storagePick the background music up where it was, from one page to the nextUntil the tab is closed
lv-music-offLocal storageStop the background music from starting on its own once you have paused itUntil you start it again

On your first visit, a banner asks whether the site may show the Google Maps map (Stay in Cotonou page) and the Spotify (or YouTube) player of the Radio page straight away. If you accept, they load by themselves; if you decline, nothing is loaded until you press their button. Once loaded, these services may set their own cookies, according to their privacy policy. Your choice is kept for six months, and you can change it at any time with “Manage cookies”, at the bottom of every page.

The background music of La Résidence does not depend on this choice: the tracks are hosted by the website itself, set no cookies and send nothing to a third-party service. It starts when you arrive, or at your first click if your browser requires one, at a discreet volume; a button at the bottom right of every page pauses it, and it then no longer starts on its own.

The Stay in Cotonou page offers a little book of addresses. If you ask for it, the website asks for your email address only to send you the link to the book in your language. The message is sent through Brevo (Brevo SAS, France), on behalf of La Résidence, and your address is added to no list. If you also tick the optional box to receive news from La Résidence, Brevo first sends you a confirmation email (double opt-in): you are added to the news list only once you confirm, every news email carries an unsubscribe link, and La Résidence keeps your address until you unsubscribe.

To protect this form from automated abuse, the website uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is sending it, without showing you anything to solve. Turnstile processes technical signals (such as your IP address, TLS fingerprint, browser identification and the website's identifier) for this sole purpose, and Cloudflare also uses them to improve Turnstile. This processing is covered by Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

Cloudflare, Cloudbeds, WhatsApp (Meta), Spotify and Google are established outside Benin, in particular in the United States: using their services involves a transfer of data to those countries. Formalities with the Personal Data Protection Authority (Autorité de Protection des Données à caractère Personnel, APDP): To be confirmed.

You may request access to your data, have it corrected or erased, or object to its processing, by writing to reservation@residenceleauvive.com. La Résidence will reply to you as soon as possible.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Authority (APDP), in Cotonou: apdp.bj.

This website is not intended for children. A booking or an event request must be made by an adult.

This policy reflects how the website actually works. It will be updated if the website changes, for example if the form one day sends requests by email.
